The long-planned Manila-Bulacan-Pampanga-Bataan Coastal Road-Dike Project has gained new momentum following the Department of Public Works and Highways’ partnership with the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
Now officially called the Manila Bay Integrated Flood Control, Coastal Defense and Expressway Project, the initiative aims to strengthen flood protection along Manila Bay while improving regional connectivity between Metro Manila, Bulacan, Pampanga, and Bataan.
According to DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon, the project is expected to serve not only as a major transportation corridor but also as a critical defense against rising sea levels and coastal flooding, helping protect communities while supporting economic growth in Central Luzon.
